MOVE!

ARoS Aarhus Art Museum

At the special exhibition MOVE! visitors could experience the Danish artist Jeppe Hein’s interactive work Distance from 2004 in an untraditional setting penetrating walls and spaces from a previous exhibition in which colours, lighting, and wall texts remained unchanged.

In that way the 400-metre-long roller coaster transformed the gallery into a single large-scale movable structure, as the work smashed its way through a previous architectural layout, demonstrating how staging an art exhibition seems to be an eternal cycle of tearing down and rebuilding walls.
